What Tools?

Not sure if this should be in here or "other chatter" mods please move if in the wrong place.

I'm moving house in 2 weeks time and my new house has a garage which I have been granted to use by my better half as man cave.
The very nice people moving out are leaving a work bench in there which is great. So now comes my question.

I have drill, a few screwdrivers, a blunt chisel, 2 hammers and a dremel. What tools should I get for my man cave? I'm not sure what I want to make or fix but I would like to get together a basic set of tools and power tools.

First thing I want to get is a vice for work bench. So I'm open to suggestions as to what I should get.

Also if people think of anyother things that may be usefull in there i.e. WD40 etc that would be usefull to.

Find your nearest flea market - some will have days when they sell second-hand tools. Many happy hours can be had, browsing these.

the tools I use the most are electric sanders (both belt & circular), jig saw & a stainless steel set square ( I think that's what they're called, the L shaped things with a ruler on one of the arms)
A few good chisels & a wooden mallet are pretty handy too & of course a good quality hand saw.

A decent extention lead, small angle grinder, a selection of drill bits(wood and metal), nudie calender...
Will you be doing wood or metal work or a bit of both?

In the woods if possible.
You'll probably be better off deciding what you want to do and then getting the tools you need to do those things as you do them. I wouldn't dash out and buy enough tools to fill the place straight away, you might find you never use some of them.

Whatever you get make sure that they don't rust away to uselessness while you're not looking. Steel tools can rust even if it doesn't seem to be especially damp, so if they're at risk give them a light coating of oil and wrap them in something to keep the oil from getting everywhere else. I keep separate toolkits for plumbing. joinery, the car and so on. There's a bit of duplication but it means I can just grab the kit and go.

You'll also need;

An odd screw box.
A spare 1mm drill bit for when you snap your new one first time
A megaphone to tell your wife to stop throwing her junk in there
A solid paint brush
A traffic cone
An unknown wheel trim
An upturned screw on the floor for adjusting your tyre pressures
A family of mice
A huuuuuge spider
A spare light bulb for when you leave the chuck key in the new lathe.
More blunt chisels, 1 just isn't enough IMO.
