Does anyone know what the outcome was? Has Jewson's changed supplier ?
I can endorse everything Stuart said. Samling do flout regualtions and employ gangsters at road blocks and timber camps if needed to intimidate the natives or the workers.
Recently, several Penan girls studying at a local school in one of the large settlements were raped. That was only he tip of the iceberg.
Funnily enough I know the Samling heir Troy Yaw and was friends with James Wong's daughter when she lived in London. All pleasant hospitable people but the family fortunes are built on a foundation of sufferings by many poor indigenous tribes.
