Good tools- Good choice.
Yes, Varusteleka is a great company. I have all of their current Skrama and Jääkäripuukko and regularly carry them into Everglades National Park.

If I had one desire to improve these knives it would be that they be offered in some form of stainless steel. The Peltonen knives, have an N690 steel option that I think is great. I carry the Peltonen M07 in N690 quite a bit with no worries about rusting in the humidity.

With the tarrifs, I try to pick up the superb Finnish made knives when they appear on sale. Varusteleka offered a 15% discount for Independence Day to USA addresses, to help offset the tariffs. Additionally, they have a loyalty plan that is quite easy to move to their premium level. At that level, shipping, from Finland to my home in Florida is cost free to me.

They have been but if I remember correctly there were some production issues with it, have to ask when I'll visit the shop on Thursday.
That's what I read. At the same time the Peltonen M07 M690 steel knives are made at Laurin Metalli Oy. Isn't that the same company that makes the Varusteleka knives? I missed out on the stainless Jääkäripuukko 85 that came out this year but was able to get a few of the Jääkäripuukko 80 and two of the kitchen knives, all in stainless. The stainless Jääkäripuukko are not as thick as the carbon steel blades but I reckon they don't need to be.

As far as I know Laurin Metalli is also making Leka's knives. Memory slowly returns, it was the problem of stamping the blanks, Lauri's machines were hickupping with 4 mm thickness SS. I'll check what the situation is now.

Two sets of kiddies sucker on, car window sun shades . Put them on my small bathroom, and toilet windows which gets a lot of sun. Works realy well to shade the rooms and keep the sun out.
Well, if it works on cars, why not other windows?

I saw this if anyone wants something similar , it uses a shotgun caddy which can be sourced cheaply - if you get some of the vitamin C tube containers from Lidl / Aldi you can trim them down to fit.

That's remarkable. I have carried salt, pepper and sugar packets obtained from fast food joints while hiking and have been told I overthink things. You've taken your hiking food game to the next level.
