What did you buy today?

  • The awesome MakerMoot is coming up (13-15th Nov 2026), Visit the TORM & ARM markets, and have space back at camp to work on projects and enjoy great company. PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I bought nothing today, and glad of it after buying waaaay too much stuff and things for projects that will possibly never come to fruition! Nearly bought a Baerskin hoodie but sense prevailed as I have a wardrobe full of hardly worn clothes.

Did they look ( politely ) look somewhat scruffier?? when you first got them ?? How long does it take them to ' Jeuje 'back up?
A bit dishevelled after the drive home, but apart from that they were pretty well preened from the get go. Not like our ex-commercials though, they were a sorry sight. Took a long while to get them back into good shape.

Ordered a water scoop, size 1 litre.

In early 20th century in Finland some lumberjacks and other people traveling the woods used a metal scoop as a simple cooking vessel for food and for coffee for cooking over fire.
I have long been interested about this but never found a suitable scoop for this because it had to have a handle suitable for attaching a wooden handle.
Until now after reading an article about the subject and the writer cooking with one and said where he bought it. So I ordered one too.

Ermmm.... why Four?? May I ask.

I've got a couple. But Four?
Two are for members of Sussex and Surrey Coppicing Group, which is high praise because they've been lifelong billhook users but recognised the advantage and versatility of the Skrama.

Two are for old BritishBlades guys who should know better, will hardly use them, but just couldn't resist. :D

A tin of Barbour wax as I've a jacket and a hat to reproof, also various little electrical odds n sods as I have been asked if I will convert another couple of Tilley lamps to electric, now to go buy a reel of two core twisted cloth covered cable as that will be four lamps in total to convert before Christmas.

A bunch of Ecover 5L refills in a Black Friday deal on Amazon. I will use them eventually and have room to store them, so tend to grab refills when on offer. Not going to run out of washing up liquid or laundry detergent any time soon..... :woot:
