One Tigris Kompound hammock and down quilt. Been faithful to DD hammocks for 20 years, time to try something new.

I bit the bullet.

Yes I know other power generators do more, but I have invested in previous Jackery's (E240 and E1000) and have their solar panel systems which are all compatible, so I can mix and match.

Behold the Jackery 2000 plus:

and it's expandable 2000 battery system.

I can add another 4 batteries to this system to bring it up to 12Kw

Do you have a use/goal for the system or is it purely as a failsafe?

A bit of both really. I have already proven to myself proof of concept with the E1000
Jackery so the extra power available lengthens that.

With the roll of of smart meters due to "old age" of the gas and electric meters my ability to reduce another Bill also appeals.

The system is a back up for a back up for a back up.

Two is one and one is none but three is even better......

My grandson and I practice quarterstaff with solid ash staffs :) - but we do use padded sticks for short stick.

I did see that as I searched the forum to see if 'Quarterstaff' had arose before anywhere.

I can see I will need to advertise to find a sparring buddy at some point but as I'm sniffing around this lot currently I'm hoping that won't be an issue.

I feel I am unfashionably very late to the whole Jackery thing - everyone here seems to be speaking about it with aplomb.

So , in simple speak what is it? Just an over sized battery pack with additional outlets? What options exist for charging it?

In a nutshell its a battery and inverter all in one solution with plug outlets and USB outlets.

The newer models now have the more robust lipo4 batteries that generally give a longer lifespan.

They can be charged in the home via mains or a conventional generator (240 plug), 12v dc in a vehicle or from a solar panel (doesn't need to be the same brand, a generic panel or panels in an array will work).

There's small units that would be adequate for electronics, large units that would power a campervan or some offer additional battery packs to be connected to power home usage.

There's plenty of brands now making them, so it's a decision of what features you want, how quick the actual unit will recharge, the size of the invertor internally (200w- 5000w), future expansion and size/portability.

Eurohike 10L day sac to replace a small dry bag that I would often carry in one hand for my assorted nick-nacks. Stops me being profiled, tagged & targeted. Kindof obvious really.

A Car boot! Something I missed in the Iron Age.

Some beeswax
Couple of big wooden bowls (a cheap import and one that looks like walnut/olive)
a M&S Leather laptop bag
A small red deer antler
A vintage resin clock (for my early plastic collection)
A Big Trak
A log grenade
Some decent scissors
A Mandalorian mug
local history book
Britains trees book
