You're going to be a busy bee this winter - they're supposed to be cracking books. Nice and clear instructions.

My boys did ok too! Should have taken more pics, but it was bloomin early. got them a norgie each, thanks to the patience at Endicotts, not many tiny squaddies! They had the knife each they wanted (first step up from a mora) Eldest requested a reindeer hide ( thanks Hillbill) And youngest a bow and dpm pack, when they tell you it's the best christmas ever, you know you have done good!

Swedish police issue first aid kits, smith and wesson survival knives etc etc etc...

The lads look totally made up there Ivan, the look on his face in the last photo especially is crackin'. That's a proper boys Christmas face. And deservedly so - excellent prezzies. (And it gives you an excuse to take them out to "test" it all out).

Cool, remember you have to wear a tweed cap and smoke a pipe when reading the books:D. Great reads there, adventures on a page.

They certainly are great reads. I don't do the tweed cap and pipe thing - smoke makes me cough !!! LOL - but Hubby gave me the set a few years back and they sit by the bed now for a gentle adventure before stacking Zzzzs.

Must say that aside from the likes of Wainwright and Richard Proenneke who I could read 'till the uddered ungulates come home I had Lillian Beckwith (as mentioned elsewhere) as a prelude to repose for many years. The flow of the language just rocked me off to blissful dreams of life in the Islands with the lilt of an Island accent murmuring softly to me. I gave my set of Wainwrights to a younger walker way back as he was enraptured by them and lived fairly close to the core of the books. so at least they are still getting used.

I do still have a tweed cap though and it has been worn as a bed cap on colder highland nights.
