If you're not needing ankle support or carrying heavy loads boots like Blundstons are pretty good. Let your feet breath, quiet to move in, easy take off and empty out and allow your feet to swell which they often do.in those conditions. Not so cheap here in the UK, will skin you about £100, for what is basically a work boot in Australia but they last for years of heavy use. I've had a few pairs but the present ones are still going strong after about 7 years of daily use. They're also pretty weather proof. Not had wet feet in them despite heavy use in Scotland.
I like them as they're quiet for moving through the wilds and comfortable too. If you watch the likes of Les Hiddens and Ray Mears they can often be seen wearing them when out in the bush.
