Well cheers Toddy you've just demonstrated by closing my thread aboubt my daughter's skin care that that this is just another boy scout wannabe save the world forum. All I asked was a simple question regarding a "NATURAL" cure for early teenage skin problems. However the best you can advise is "put your daughter on the pill" well is it any wonder that the country has the highest teenage pregnancy and std rate in europe with opions such as those displayed here today. Oh, and by the way, I was not aware that I was ranting in any shape or form at all. It seems that anyone that expresses an opinon different from the norm gets blocked immediately.

Mate, if you think you can just insult Toddy for giving honest advice, in two different places.....perhaps you might be better off finding somewhere else to rant.

BTW: Estrogen is a Natural Product.

Milo you were being obstreperously offensive. Despite my clear statement that I would not deal with your complaint until another Mod, who was not involved in the original discussion, was available to deal with the issues you raised, you persisted.
I closed the thread until Buckshot came on-line.
I haven't read his response yet, but happily agree to abide by his decision.

You appear to want to rant tonight.
Your choice.
I choose not to listen.

Milo this is childish and petty.
Please look at my response to the original thread.

Be warned that if you insist on continuing with this behaviour we will be forced to take action - no one else gets away with throwing insults like this, I hope it's becasue you're wound up tonight.
Please calm down before some unrepairable damage is done.

I am not Milo, I am offering a comletely different perspective on this. However, I cannot believe, as a non 'bushcraft' enthusiast, how incredibly childish you all are. I feel extremely sorry for you to say the least. Perhaps in furture you may wish you read the content of messages submitted more fully. My husband is a gentleman who hasn't been offensive or abusive in any way. He has made his own opinion clear. Surely this is acceptable on any forum, provided it is not abusive. I am somewhat surprised at your level of immaturity, not to say, dismayed.

I think you have all escalated this beyond all proportion. All I asked was if there was any NATURAL remedies for my young daughter's skin condition. To be advised to put her on the pill is unacceptable. Also I was advised to "shell out" and treat her to a beautician's opinon. This is something that is anathema to her as she strictly believes in natural remedies. At no point in my dialogue was I ranting, just expressing an opinion. Isn't that what forums are for.
Do not bother replying to this as I am finished with this forum and it's blinkered outlook on general discussions.

OK, someone may wish to delete this, and feel free, it would save me getting involved, but I can rarely stop myself sticking my oar in, so...

Milo/Milo's wife/etc - like sharp88 said, calm down mate. Nobody has tried to offend you, and I personally do not understand why you are offended. Calling people childish and immature, and referring to this forum as a "boy scout wannabe save the world forum" is getting no-one anywhere. People on this forum are amongst the most tolerating, helpful people I've had the pleasure of speaking to, and as one who has benefited numerous times from their advice, I feel that such remarks are completely unwarranted.
Additionally, this issue was not, by any means whatsoever, escalated by other members of this forum.
You were not advised, much less told, to put her on the pill. Toddy simply made the statement that the pill does help with many girls. I'm 100% certain that no offence was meant, and that it was intended only as a helpful comment.
Just my 2p.

And for the record, if parents everywhere put their daughters on the pill, why would that explain a high teenage pregnancy rate?

Regardless as to whether you've said natural or not some advise was offered, if it wasn't what you expected then you politely say so, you don't flame the person.

Calm down and be civil or leave.

Natural methods suggested in the relevant thread: 5
Tea tree oil
Evening Primrose
Lots and lots of exercise
Being outside
Learning how to take good care of skin

'Unnatural' methods suggested: 1
The pill

Why kick up a fuss about a single method when there are five others? :)
I know you said that your daughter knows how to take care of her skin (and therefore other methods reduce to four), but the suggestion was made before you told us that.

Personally I'm 21 and haven't a clue how to look after my skin. I wash it and let it get on with it... I wasn't actually aware that you're supposed to do anything else.

Good grief

A little on the strong side.

Four or five good answers and a storm blows up about one!

Assuming Milo ever looks at this site again, The tea tree oil etc are good ways to go. With regards to the 'beautician' thing, there are some good homeophathic skin people out there. When i was your daughters age (i am male though!) i had the same problem, i tried allsorts chemical and natural. Although it didn't clear it up completely a woman i knew through my parents used to make me a cream which was made from all natural ingrediants. I can't remember them all now but i know it involved things like tea tree oil and lavender. Using that with a carefully neutral balanced 'natural' soap and a strict cleaning regime it did help. It wasn't a 'cure all' i still had acne until i was about 17 but it helped. I also felt better that at least it was natural stuff i was slapping on my face.

It's a tough thing to have to handle, probably more so nowadays than ever before. It seems so unfair that some people have perfect skin and some don't.
The only re assurance i can offer is- all the friends i went to school with that had perfect skin now look about 15 years older than i do!! I hardly recognised a group of them a while back. It is commented that i look a lot younger than them.

Not bad for 33! :Wow:

I'm usually one of the first to pipe up about excescive modding on here but in closing the thread I think Toddy did absolutely the right thing and in absolutely the right way. Likewise Mark has been spot on in the way he has reopened it.

If you don't like the advice given then don't take it..... what was wrong with a polite "Thanks but no thanks, that's not what I'm looking for"?

In an atempt to try to help you find the sort of answer you were looking for I did a 2 second google search and found this little lot, hopefully some of it will be useful to you. The first link looks very good:

http://healing.about.com/cs/skincare/a/acnecure.htm

http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/remedy/Acne.html

http://www.naturalacneremedy.com/

You may not have meant to "rant" but I can assure you that via the unhelpful media of the written word that's exactly how you did come across to many of us reading this.

As others have said, maybe a little calming down is required and then we'll see if some of the more plant/herb specialists on here can help you a little more.

All the best,

Bam. :)

OTT reaction. Simple as that.

Oh and before you start throwing insults perhaps you should look at the Irony of your statement, as the only person that has acted immaturely has been yourselves and your misinterpretation of information.

Good luck for your daughter though and I hope that she finds a solution for her problem, I know how frustrating skin problems can be, but at the end of the day sometimes natural solutions may not be able to solve the problem so perhaps she should arrange to see a qualified herbalist who will be able to advise on the situation or if that doesn't help a visit to the GP may be the best step. It all depends on the severity though really.

Stinkymilo - I understand how upset this can make you. My son who's 16 also suffers from acne and everything he has tried hasn't worked or only helps a little. He eats loads and I mean loads of fruit and vegetables as he cares about his weight very much being a x-country runner, and gets very frustrated because despite his very careful diet he still gets spots. He never eats chocolate or crisps etc. I really don't know what to advise as he's tried both natural and man made remidies to no great avail. Please don't slate me (as I'm just telling you what I do and I'm sure you do your own thing with your daughter) but I sit down with him and explain that unfortunately it's just one of those things (just like there will always be certain teachers and ignorant people in society that he also sometimes gets fed up with) at his age and they WILL go away eventually, (not the rude people unfortunately) and just keep doing what you're doing to keep the spots to a minimum and try to make him feel a little positive. Anyway good luck with whatever you try. Please don't get too angry with the folks on here's advice because it was all meant in good faith................ Be happy and remain positive :)
