This is a walking stick / tracking stick I have made. Will use with a Scout Group I am a leader at to show the Scouts some tracking skills and foot print identifications.
I have carved a Wood Spirit at the top, followed by a "Sparrowhawk" pyro'd in (That's my Scout Leader Name), then a woodbadge medallion as I have my wood beads, Paracord hold, then UK animal footprints down the shaft. There are ring marks at every 12 inches as per the traditional Scout staves. A couple of elastic bands will act as the markers, although I do have a more up to date SAR tracking stick like the Mountain Rescue teams which I will also use.
Shaft is birch I think, well seasoned and dried.
