It's incredible, and I have a lot of respect for the guy who has known about them for twenty years and yet still had the self control, respect and honour not to contact them, as he knows it's for the best. It must be incredibly hard...

It's kind of weird that we have to protect our own species like we do pandas and such. It's also unsettling that us modern humans would kill these people in order to supply the timber trade. Sometimes I wonder whether we are advanced or going the other way.

At least they have each other for now, this link tells the story of the last member of another uncontacted tribe, I say uncontacted but its pretty clear that his people were all killed by developers and loggers.

He now has 31 square kilometers of forest left to live in, developers have moved on and under government pressure have left him with at least that.
