The Heroes of Telemark - The Movie, a new one, not the older Richard Harris, Kitk Douglas one.

Maybe worth a look, a bit of extra background and the 'Heroes of Telemark' mission.

Cheers for that, looking forward to that, it's just one of those classic stories, doesn't need any embellishment as its chock full of bravery, heroism and adventure. Remember watching interviews with the chaps concerned, they were very disarming with their modesty.

Unlikely, if for no other reason that main scientists were not 'on message' with the party, Werner Heisenberg only narrowly missed being dismissed because (and I'm not making this up) his mum knew Himmlers mum.

There is also the whole alternative history thing where if he waits a bit, the 'future' allies think, hold on maybe we should pay a bit more attention to this, or Polish scientists invent the bomb, or Stalin falls of a horse and breaks his neck and someone less trusting of German diplomats steps into his boots, or or or etc.

Well the two scientist who had the correct thoery for the amount of Uranium needed had to leave sharpish from Germany, think if i remember correctly there teacher had the amount needed wrong, they fled to Britain then on to America.And the rest as they say is history.
