We're lucky to live in the shadow of the Malvern Hills which gives me around 3000 acres of Conservators land which has virtually unrestricted access. I'm also lucky to have a day off in the week whilst my wife works to look after the three kids (and now a forth on the way!). When the chores are done and her brothers are at school, my daughters and I will often just head off along the hills somewhere with the dogs to wander until its time to collect the boys from school. So I thought I'd post the daytime jaunt we did a couple of days before the snow arrived

About a mile from our house is Park Wood. Its one of the less visited woods, but because the Conservators are trying to return it to it's historical state as a working coppice to feed the limekilns, one of the most beautiful.

Dogs leading the way, both of them accidents on the local farm!

Never too young to be in caharge of the dogs in our house, although our puppy has yet to work that out

Our stopping point for lunch. As you can see we've been left a fantastic table and bench. There has been a lot of clearance work and a lot of replanting in the last 18 months. We usually take our emberlit and use some of the discarded thinnings, but as it was so cold I opted for the jetboil to speed the hot food up (although the warm strawberry milkshake bought plenty of time).
Had to make a place for Charlie Bear to, after all it wouldn't be a teddy bear picnic without one

Sausage and beans, hot chocolate cake and sauce all gone, notice Marley and his ever hopeful face!

The view outwards looking west. When the daylight is longer we'll all head up here after school has finished and you can watch the sun set through the trees.

Heading home to pick up the boys after a long stroll.

Rosey cheeked and shattered
Now just her brothers to tire out now!
Thanks for letting me share our day.
