The U.K Desert
While walking the dog in my local woods today I was passed by a couple of the local :censored: on a mini moto. They are real problem in our area having nearly run over me and my dog on a couple of occasions. Anyway back to the story, about 50 yards down the path from us they met a bobby on a bike coming towards them :lmao:
they promptly did a u-turn but stalled the bike :lmao:

Result- One confiscated bike and two unhappy chavs :bigok:

Just another 20+ to go

Haha, what a result.

A good friend of mine had a problem with mini motos riding down the open plan gardens to the front of his house...he ties a 20lb fishing line across his garden at waist height.

The first chav to hit it also snapped it, leaving no evidence. He went out to pick up the young man and advised him that next time he rode across the gardens he would set his laser to "kill" not "stun".

Problem solved:35:

Lol classic, i must admit the mini-moto/scrambler thing is an annoyance, the path that runs outside the front of my house, its back from the road so they love to tear up and down it, its annoying but my biggest worry is that my kids will wander out the front and get hit by em. at one point i almost went out with my bokken and took a swipe at one (v stupid idea) but the local fuzz did eventually see them off.

So now the Chav learns (yes they do) and will now go and string Duck tape accross the local b-road......NOT COOL!
A colleauge had some one close to him ride in to bail twine strung across two posts it was not a trap but had the same effect.
so what if the fishing line has a 20lb breaking strain...it still took the kid off the bike....and I bet he was not wearing an approved piece of clothing or head protection.

As a Biker of 14 years I find this tale all to sad ...a 'you do me wrong so i'll do you a bigger more thoughtless wrong' attitude, why did'nt you mate just go and face up to them if it was (Edited by ME) him off...or even more correctly get the local authorities involved....

Mojo i have to say your missing the poin,t if the child/chav wasn't tresspassing then none of it would of happened!, also simon's mate isnt responsible for the chav not wearing the correct protective clothing, they or their parents are!

if you went for a jog down the fast lane of the M1 would it be the drivers fault if he knocked you over..... no it would be yours for doing something SO STUPID AND DANGEROUS

Scramblers up my way are a total pain. They've wrecked the footpaths and tracks, and all you hear all weekend are these idiots roaring around the place. The police can't do much about it though, there are too many cut throughs where they can't be followed. There's no money or resources to stop them and they're a huge problem all around the valleys now :(

"Under the Occupier's Liability Act 1984 householders owe a duty of care to anyone on their property, whether they are entitled to be there or not. The duty is to protect people from an injury as a result of a foreseen hazard"
I think stringing a couple of post with line is pretty foreseen!

And i'm preety sure if You mow someone down on the motorway you'd still have to come up with a better response than " they shouldn't have been there"

Any how. I was all for this thread as i can't stand unruley folk thinking they own the place....chave moto's included. The cops should hit them where it hurst (and they did in taking the bike)

My problem comes from people not thinking about their actions and not caring at all.

The guy who stung the line up is just as out of order as those kids on the bike.

This is where i get frustrated as a biker, I've been following cars as kids throw bags/ashtrays(yes)/ drinks bottles out of the windows and watching me to see what happens.
other times i've had rock dropped from bridges (onto cars infront of me as well as when i rode past)
People just don't give a edited by Moderator about others...and people do string lines across roads. IT IS SICK so sorry if i'm just a bit edited by Moderator if you and Simon think it is a good plan to potenially garrot that kid!

END!

I've been taunted and nearly run over by them numerous times. I wouln't beat them up, threaten them, set booby traps or have a go at them though. Its just not worth the grief. They could assault you, do damage to your property and the coppers may put the donuts down and throw you in the nick. Best thing to do would be to pester the police on the non-emergency line as much as possible until they get sick of you n do somthing substantial.

We have an epidemic of vandalistic and antisocial chavs in our area too. In the last month alone I've witnessed graffiti in process, smashing of village hall windows, flashing at a lady walking a dog in the park, and urinating into a letter box. The police have not been interested in responding to any of these incidents, despite my making calls to them on the spot, and photographing the individuals concerned with my mobile.

What laws were they breaking by riding mini motos?

To name a few likely ones are driving without insurance, without licence, MOT, without helmet, trespass, criminal damage.

All those have been used when we've had the odd one or 2 come through my office after they've been done in the courts :D

I didn't think you'd need a licence etc for mini motos.

They should build tracks for them, give the kids something to do that they ACTUALLY WANT TO DO in a safe setting where they aren't bothering folk. It works at skateparks.

Edit: I did a bit of web sleuthing and it seems you only need a licence if you use them on a road and you need to have land owners permission to use them elsewhere. Using them on wasteland can be tricky to define.

There was a report on BBC Breakfast/News 24 just the other morning about this and a clampdown/campaign etc.

Yup, as you say you do require a licence if on public roads/places and the ones that my office dealt with had been arrested on the roads :)

As for wasteland, why's that tricky? Every square inch of this country is owned by somebody even if they've allowed it to go derelict and neglected whilst waiting for land values to increase.

It's up to the little sods to prove they do have the landowners permission to be on there,.
