Great link, i am in the market for a new smock, seems like a good price for a Swanni badge i would be interested to know how well these would fair in heavy rain.

Certainly a nice looking bit of kit. My only concerns would be the shortness of the neck opening, limiting ventilation to a degree, and the high front 'bino' pocket. I'm sure that it works - it just looks a bit odd. Good to see some hand warmer pockets though! I'll be very interested to hear any feedback from anyone who's actually seen and tried out one of these...

"...and the high front 'bino' pocket..."

I am guessing, and I am no expert, that the pocket is so high so that the binoculars can be removed and replaced while prone (bird watching/stalking etc.) At some of the hunting exhibitions here and in Austria there are companies who sell Binocular harnesses with exactly that in mind.

This is correct, my binos are quite heavy and it would be a chore to wear them over a long day without the harness.

All the weight, as when using just a strap, is transferred from the neck to the shoulders, and you can adjust the carry to as high or low to suit.

That explains the pocket's position. Since I only ever use a little 10x25 pair, this facility would be wasted on me and the pocket might just be a tad too high for toting around the usual gubbins I use for bushcraft; it would keep it out of the way though... I will await a fully review with interest.

don't like the elasticated cuffs, looks like they're fixed ?, prefer cuffs wide enough to push up over elbows with an adjustable wrist fastening for bad weather/warmth.

Had a wee look at that when the catalogue came through the door the other day. Looks nice and a decent price too.I do like Bushwear, nice bunch of folk. (The owner lived in the village 'till recently). The staff have always been very helpful and knowledgeable when I've been in or on the phone. I try to stay out of the shops as my pocket can't take the "want" factor.

Must admit I'm not a fan of hoods; I feel a little vulnerable when I put one up. Much prefer a hat. Looks very well thought out thoough. Beinteresting to see how the sizing goes, I've a few Swanni's - all in different sizes, though the all fit.
