Is it me or does anyone else prefer watching the sun go down on solstice day, rather than watching the sun come up?

Summat about sitting round a fire as the light fades i suppose...

Went up to my local woodland which sits high above the valley where my town is to watch it. Cloud cover was too dense, so had a brew instead....

Me the missus and our two dogs drove down over to Snowdonia, arriving at the snowdon ranger car park just before 1 am. We've never done a night walk before, and it was really eerie in a good way to walk up in almost total darkness. We got to the top just before 4am . Quite a few people bivvying up there. There was total mist cover so we had no chance of seeing the sun break, or anything else for that matter so we headed down at half past.

Absolutely fantastic little trip out. Knackered now though.
