Some awesome pics guys, that hog roast is making me hungry!! Looks like you have a really good setup in the new wood.
The dates never seem to fit with my shifts but I think August and September's dates may work - hope so!

Great news on the air guns and archery but why re curve only - what have you got against us traditional Longbowmen?:)

Got a spot open for this weekend (Saturday night wild camp) if anyone's interested in the Thetford area.

If you're interested, PM me for details... and there will be occasional showers according to the weather, so if you're a lame "fair weather only" kind of person, it won't be for you.

We have nothing against any traditional Bow be it a Long Bow or Flat Bow, the re-curve thing was spoken about during the discussions with the Land Owner, myself and Carl, when we know what Targets we have access too, that's what will enviably decide what power of bows that can be used. The last thing we want is people running out and buying bows that can not be used. We have no targets at the moment so the Archery will not happen until we do.

The Air Gun Targets and Chronograph are at the moment being used with the kind permission of group members and will be available when they attend, also the RCO will have to be at the meeting, and the Air Guns and Archery will only be open to regular members.

That's no problem, some of the group members have the same problem and come for the single night, sometimes we have a day visitor, being a newbie is no problem, one suggestion I would make is try to make one night as the Dawn Chorus is something else in the woodland, as its so quite being with no other sounds. And it gives a fuller day the next day.

The cost for one night is still £10 I am afraid, as the Landowner charges us for the weekend, that's one thing I am going to Try to bring down as he get to know us.

I do like that shelter ... I may try building myself one at Northwood at the end of the month :)

It was a nice shelter and well built as well, the brief for the guys was to find a nice location that gave the impression to be a way from the camp area, so it could be used by some one if they fancied a night out out the normal tarp/tent. and they succeeded, Kirkland spent the night in it and loved it :)

Looks like it would do the job just fine, if we can find a good amount of willow or other thin material like hazel. I think our screens only need to be about 4'x4'

Group meal list for the Group Meeting of 5th and 6th July 2013. Meal will be on the night of the 6th.

The meal will be my trademark Chicken Stir Fry (it's better than it sounds, I assure you) made fresh on the day. There will need to be two batches if there are more than 5 eating, but this is easily done as it doesn't take so long to make :)

Please copy this entire post and add your name to the list:
