Well I started making a few things out of Beech at the last time I was in the Forest, including my first bowl of a reasonable size.

I started the bowl with a guttering Adze, here are some pics of the progress over the last few days...

After laboring with the hook knife I remembered I had a Scorp (Inshave) knocking about - just the trick for a bowl this size...

I'm rather please with how the bowl & ladle have turned out.

The ladle is formed from a lump on a Beech branch. The inner wood was spalted very dark but still hard. I went along with the wonky shape of the branch.

Some more Ewok type wonkyness...

They all need finishing once they have dried out for a couple of weeks.

They look amazing, I really like that style.

What type of adze do you have? Could we get a picture?

It was a friends Gransfors Bruks small guttering Adze. I have no pictures of the one in question sorry.

I have since ordered an even smaller Adze from Svante Djarv in Sweden., I tried one at the Woodfair & loved it.
