made a couple of spoons last night, and for the first time i turned a spoon on the lathe (the one on the left) basicly you just turn all the shape than cut a side away then carve the bowl as normal,i quite like this style but you cant lug a gurt lathe about in the woods can you?!

Heres a set of Salad servers that I just finished this weekend while away camping with the Girlfriend and little one, also a small tea spoon size one that I quickly did in about 3/4 hr as a demo to a group at the camp site...

The salad servers are from Cherry, dont know what the smaller one is, was from the log pile, its got a couple of wood worm holes in it as well - no grubs tho, just for interest..

Here's some of mine.

Left to right, my second ever spoon (sold my first one), a big chunky effort in cherry, but I really like its shape. Then my main camping user spoon, in ivy, with centre grain. Shows radial cracks but is solid. Then a big fork (not sure of the wood), and finally my bone knifork, also a user.
