Some great work on display there. Here's one of my own efforts:

And a little bit about how I put it together.

Before that I made the one in this pic:

And ages before that my first effort is shown in here:

In fact, a bit of leather just arrived yesterday so I can have another go!

Mine so far. The billhook was the first one I did. The hawk is still a work in progress, toying with the idea of trying some decoration, this is also my first antler button20151010_111456.jpg20151010_111502.jpg

Stunning work by everyone here! Hibrion that double bit sheath looks the biz, I'll have to sort one out for mine - the gransfors one that came with it are useless.

Thanks, Cameron. I found the Gransfors one's annoying as they were two seperate masks. It didn't feel safe to me when taking one off at a time.

Thought I would contribute a few pictures to the thread. I made these a year or two ago for my own Gränsfors Bruk small forest axe and mini hatchet. The mini sits on the belt as a replacement for the knife sometimes.
The blades on both are protected against the sam browne stud screw back. Had I made them today, I would have changed a few things :)

My first one I made for a friend, had trouble with the rivets being weak though... gotta source some stronger ones, any leads would be appreciated.

Nice work for your first. You're right about the rivets being weak though. Get some saddlers copper rivets from LePrevo, they're next to indestructable ;)
Thanks dread head, they seem expensive but I'll give them a go :)

What leather do people tend to use? And where is the best place to get it from? I'm talking thickness mainly.
Hi Adam, I used a 4m veg tan leather, I would go for a more flexible leather next time, only down to 3m.
I got it from J. T. Bachelors Ltd. In North London. They have a good scraps bin If you want to experiment.
