Sandles,recomend me some.

I need meself a pair of top quality sandle,sort I can use every day and in the outdoors,I suffer from proper sweaty feet and so I fancy some sandle's to ley my feet breath and recover type of thing.What do you learned Bushcrafty types use yourselves or recomend???

I tend to wait until an appropriate time then off come the boots and socks and a good coating of talc all over my plates (and it feels grrrrreat) I was born with ten toes and over the years have gotten quite attached to them I would hate to leave one or two in the woods

There about £30 a pair, but have memory foam inside them, so there really comfy

Great for keeping your feet aired, quick to dry if they get wet, good for camp showers, as you never know who was in there before you

Oh yeah, there are loads of copies out now, so worth checking the labels etc

Crocs as far as I am concerned are excellent but in the right place. Weigh next to nothing but as Dave has said not much protection. Probably not very environmentally friendly either in terms of their industrial plastics construction.

Love to wear mine around the camp but not when out and about in the field.

Then again I bet there are a lot of bushcrafters out there who foregoe the whole wearing of footwear anyway. Spotted a couple of people at the moot who were regularly not wearing any shoes. Would love to have hardened my feet up to that standard but feel there are too many pricklies in this country to bother.

Find yourself some Birkenstock sandals. Great construction, last for ages, you're even allowed to wear them with socks

Other than that I would find yourself a pair of basic Tevas

Birkys for me too.
Mostly natural construction, timeless classic design and very comfortable (especially since they come in two widths at each size).
They're ideal for a walk in the woods, but not great if you want to scramble/run in them and see above when it comes to sandals around sharps.

I'm for Teva's myself - good variable fit, great materials and very tough. I'm usually in sandals May to October and my Tevas are in their third season (with a new piece of Velcro on the right one). As for axes etc, one becomes mindful in sandals!

Merrell and Teva do some excellent sandals. I have owned a few pairs of merrells and they are awesome, really comfy and the quality is excellent. Bought a new pair last week from blacks for £50.

IMO not really suitable for bushcraft as such! You just get grab in between your toes and your feet end up filthy.

Merrell's are great for trekking, walking in hot climates though. I have owned both Merrell and Teva, with the Merrell's being far more comfortable. Worth the extra dosh.

Just as Buckley and Mazeman have said, Teva's are great sandals. Hellishly expensive, but very comfortable and they last eons.

Also you mention your feet sweat. The merrell's have excellent vibram soles, as found on high end walking boots. Also they are treated with this microban anti bacteria fungal stuff to stop them smelling!

Might be just what you where after

Used to go thru a pair of non descript even the expensive Sandles every few months
Got some Tevas now 4 yrs old

bought a second pair just in case and cos i was in USA and they where cheap 2 yrs ago they still hardly get used.

havent tryed the more Walking orented types yet but i wouldnt walk/hike in sandels as my ankles wont take it

I have had the occasional 'walk on water' comment in my Birkenstocks, especially when it's been a while since I last saw the barber, or a razor.

My sandals actually make my feet sweat!!! Some v expensive surf type ones which I cant remember the make, anyway still haven't found a good compromise between comfort and safety.

I literally ware sandals all year round when I am not suited and booted and it is not actively snowing. And would not be with out my Teva's I have worn them for about 15 years and my original pair is still going strong they are so comfortable and adjustable which is great for me as my feet different by a UK size and a half.

I would go for leather foot bed if you have sweaty feet as rubber/foam type foot bed does make your feet sweat.Merrell or Teva are my choice.
