hi all my daughter is going skiing in march the question is does she take a bag or a rucksack as her carryon luggage your opinions appreciated please regards dave:lmao::campfire:

If she is learning to ski she shouldn't do so whilst wearing a rucksack as it ruins her balance. Big holdall is better than a big rucksack, easier to live out of.

2 years ago I went skiing for the very first time, went by bus and had a hold-all / big gym bag with all my clothing. I had to walk a fair distance 'till I got at my apartment. Wasn't ideal.

This year (March) I'll be flying and plan to use a rucksack as carry-on. Easier when I have to walk some distance and faster then checked luggage to appear ... Don't know if it works weight wise though (I'm limited to 5kg :yikes: )

Blimey that's quite light for hand luggage. Even my skiboots weigh more than that.

Rucksack; chances are she'll have to carry it up at least one slope.
Few years back i had to climb half a mountain in the worst blizzard austria had seen since the 80's to get to the hotel. Of course we didn't know this at the time but seeing the hotel owners face when we turned up at about 1 in the morning covered in snow and beaming at him him was priceless.
Great night; heard some wolves howling and everything (wolves in austria? You tell me)

Then the next day we had the whole ski resort to ourselves, except for the staff, until 5 in the afternoon.

But would not have bin fun without rucksacks!
