Red's first Sheath - Be Gentle on Me

Sadly, I doubt Singteck can spend that time with everyone, but I did photograph every step since I know I will forget things - I'd be happy to put all the pictures in my blog with a bit of a write up if they would help anyone else who want to try this?

Frankly, even if no one actually answered this comment you should still put them up

I'm not likely to make my own sheath for a while, will probably start around the time I handle my first blade, but your posts are always highly informative and a pleasure to read so even though I won't be making one for a while I'm very interesting in seeing/hearing it about it

I'm pretty sure most people will agree

If anyone wants to try and make their own sheath I can supply them with a sheath less knife at reasonable prices

Actually, John's wee knife is a bargain - it suits me down to the ground and its lovely to see a useful practical design that isn't a "clone". Embarassingly I'll probably like it even more since I had a hand in sheathing it - even though I have sheaths made by real pros!

I've been uploading pictures of the sheath process but I'll have to do it as a "part work" since there are fifty photos and thats far too much for one post - it'll take an age to load. That said it was important to me to capture the process as a "personal record" - I'm anxious not to forget all that Singteck had the patience to teach me.

I will do the same in a couple of weeks when I'm with John and Val Lord for a day

Very nice and well done for picking what looks like a pig of a knife shape for your first sheath lol. If you managed that ok im sure with a more standard knife shape it will be even easier
