This might have been done a death already, so stick with me:)

I’m the process of consolidating my kit. Since 2006 I’ve use the PLCE burgen and side pockets, but in recent years have ditched the side pockets due to taking less and less equipment on my travels.

I am now looking to downsize my bag, but would appreciate any feedback and recommendations on a decent 45-60 ltr bag under £100. I'm a big guy (52 inch chest), so straps are an issue on some bags. My current all year round kit includes the list, but rarely differs. I have a separate external pouch I stow my food in, so space for food is less of a consideration. I usually stay out for 1-2 nights, rarely 3,

  • Wool blanket
  • Roll mat- (lashed to outside of bag)
  • Swedish cook-set
  • Pattern 58 Water Bottle and cup
  • DD 3x3 tarp, including 4 small karabiners on a ridge line
  • GI poncho
  • Fiskers x10 axe and/or Laplander saw
  • Laplander knife+ Mora backup
  • Fire lighting kit- small, can be pocket carried
  • Small first aid kit
  • Head torch
  • 30m para cord
  • A6 note pad and pencil
  • Spare dry sack, large and small

Cheers, look forward to your recommendations.
