Seeing as some bottom feeding low life decided to steal my laptop from work today can you recommend a good one for about £700. I'd like the same as I had but can't afford to replace like for like (My home insurance won't cover it because I was using it at work and neither will work because they say I should be using their systems which I would love to but they're not up to the job...Meh):(

remember if you catch the little 5h1t remember to remove the fingers slowly

I had a toshiba sattellite for 6 years before the screen gave up and would recommend them.

I buy Dells for people and have had a couple myself.
recommending spec really is down to what you need to do with it.

If you don't need the graphics power try the middle option at £549

Try ringing them for a haggle on delivery or a cheaper hardware upgrade.
Avoid the online warranty, rarely had a problem with adult owned laptops and they will probably ring you with a lot cheaper warranty package if you decide you want it.

do you need windows XP or will windows 7 be ok? do you need to run any old software/hardware that may not have 64 bit driver available?

apart from that I think you always pay a bit too much for a Sony product simply because of the name IMO.

Not sure about the esaver deal as I have never heard of them.

If you can wait for the overstock from easter to get advertised you may get better VFM next week from Dell.

If you do go via Dell, or another well-known outlet, try linking through a cashback website like Quidco or Topcashback. Worth up to 5% cashback just for signing up in some cases, and it's all money at the end of the day!:D
