Re- old post about Woodlore Tomahawk

This caught my interest.

I e-mailed Woodlore and they have no photos on file of this tool so the best way of seeing it is to try and find a member who has the 'Tracks' episode where Ray is making the canvass boat and is using it.
Sorry to dredge up a 7 yr old thread but it is something I have been looking for as well.

Have you tried youtube. Just about every episodes on there. Just been watching a very young Mr Mears!

Ja I have its my Mears source for viewing but I cant find it even typing all sorts of references to boats, canvass, tomahawks etc, pity about this realy.

I have seen a one Alan Wood had years ago when he lived at Slaggyford on the farm, not sure if he still has it but ill ask him the next time im over, think it was a Sheffield made one too.

Woodlore do have an example of that axe... at least they did when I did my campcraft with them 3 years ago.

It's Rays personal axe and mask which they showed when they got out all the various axes to have a look at. It's a sweet little axe to handle but pretty lightweight.

Unfortunately, from what I've been told, not all of the episodes are on youtube so the one you're after may not be available

ah i see now doing a bit of reading. country tracks was a rehash of 'tracks' which aired 94-97.

Acording to the original post in the link I have put up, RM was busy making a boat out of canvas when he was using it, got to say I have not seen this one, thought I had seen all.

i think there were 19 country tracks episodes and you can only get ten of them currently. Tracks cant be released on DVD due to some copyright issue about music apparently

I spoke to the Folk at Woodlore about the availability of the DVD's but they told me that they all bellonged to the BBC.

That one looks like its the head off a gransfors outdoor axe but put on a different handle, without the metal collar thingy

Does Ray not use a tomahawk in the northern wilderness series? I'm sure he makes reference to how good a tool it is, the episode with the voyageurs?
