The Maya did not use the sacrifical rites for capital punishment; To do so would have been an offence against the Gods to whom only the best would be given. Political prisoners however, now they were fair game......conquered heroes were powerful, and the more they had endured first only increased that honour.

I leared to read mayan sumarian and egyptian so i dont need a translator, thanks, they used religon to control the people just like today. They never sacrifice innocents, they had capital punishment for more crimes than we do. Read the book "the last chronicles of the mayan kings"

I am out of this thread now. No point in it, and as the mears interview was about climate change and the discussion was about the cause of climate change then it aint that far OT. More a continuation of the OP
