Prunus Serrula

Hi folks,
I`v got myself some of lovely wood, Prunus Serrula, is it safe for wood carving? I want make some spoons.

Tibetan Cherry, lovely copper bark. Prunus carves well, it's close grained.

If it's not got the shiny copper bark, then it's likely to be serrulata, another ornamental and also good for carving.

Being a Prunus it should be ok. Part of the Cherry family.
