Hi

I am looking for people's opinions of:

If i get one i would replace what looks like plastic handles on the lids, and hopefully fit a wire loop so i can hang over a fire.

I want a 2 pan (with lids) and a frying pan set which all sits nicely together.

Yip, Those look like they would do the job . You cant really go wrong will stainless steel and the fact they all fit together is a storage bonus. Good find fella

Yup, I had the same Vango set in my youth.

Another option would be the nesting billy can sets, a copy of the Bulldogs but they are aluminium which some folk don't like.

But perhaps either short of one lid or frying pan depending on how you use it.

the copper coatings on mine cracked to the max on my first use and they are all wrecked anyway now from using on wood fires

So are you saying that copper bottom pots are not really suited to open wood fires?

Even if the copper cracks would the post be ruined?

s/steel is a relatively poor conductor, copper is an excellent conductor. in theory the copper bottoms are there to ensure that the heat is spread more evenly over the bottom of the pan. in practice the copper plating is little more than a style statement due to it being so thin. even if the plating/laminate cracks, the pot should be fine as long as the s/steel body of the pan is intact.

Plus one for the Bulldog clones 2, 4, and 6 pint pots, great stuff.

I've got a set of the bulldog clones in Ally and they are great. I was able to carry 2 pots with lids for the same weight as a small Zebra.
They hang well but will hang at a slight angles if you have the lids handles extended. The lids fit ok albeit slightly looser than I would like.
