I am hoping for some advice regarding parachute shelters. i have just bought an ex military parachute off ebay. The problem with it is that it has been cut from the apex right down to the edge apparently they have to do this to comply with the law. So the question is do I resew it back together agian or is it more useful to have the split in it? so that it gives more options for setting up. Any ideas?

I would resew it myself - it can make a great group shelter!
If you do not sew it you do have the option of overlapping the cut for smaller shelter or opening it up for a smoke hole I guess - but I would still resew it...

All I know is they're crap at keeping the rain out. The rain droplets hit it and it creates a fine mist that soaks everything.

Both good points, and very true.
Another one is they don't like strong winds to much either.
I personally would re-sew it.
