Looking to buy a rain and winter jacket for outdoor walking, riding and other activities aswell as maybe wear it in general when the weather is very wet.

So far ive narrowed it down to two in the 120-130 price range.

and

http://www.craghoppers.com/buy/kiwi-gore-tex-jacket-138301

The Ridgeline is more countryside while the Craghopper is more highstreet'ish. They both have good reviews and look nice but ive never had a smock before so not sure of its downsides.
The CH uses licensed Gore Tex while the RL uses their own approximation of it. Having bought a few CH kiwi shirts and trousers lately which are very nice im quite fond of the brand at the moment.

How do you think they would fair against each other in warmth, dryness, practicality and durability?.

Thanks!

Just bought a ridgeline monsoon euro 2 myself. First impressions, excellent quality, looking forward to trying it out. Looks like the jack pyke hunter is surplus now.

sent from my Jelly Bean'd galaxy nexus.

I've just bought the Ridgeling monsoon II smock and can't rate it highly enough! An excellent bit of kit all round, in my opinion!

Aha I didn't think to look at their whole range.

Just seen the jacket very enticing, and an online retailer is offering it for 90 pounds which seems like a bargain!.

Very tempted to go for the Roar jacket right now.
