I've already got the struts cut and stained and married to the toboggan, I'll fix that up tomorrow and hopefully have it strung tomorrow as well

Yeah not too far off really, just need to lose a bit off the length as I had a bit of a mishap when countersinking one hole :( but then I'll need to trim the strut as well I think ? and that will need varnish, oh well, it's done when it's done lol

Oil the wood mate it will last much longer. Varnish will come off. One part Linseed oil one part Danish oil one part bees wax. Melt it together in the microwave or a pan and brush it on. Should soak straight in. Repeat as needed then buff with a cloth. Gives a beautiful shine and finish and seals the wood really well because of the wax. Varnish will be ok but you will have to re apply quite often. With the oil you wont so much. And looks and feels better....👌👌👌👍👍👍😆😆😆

The wood will be fine mate. Just give it a quick sand down then use that mix when your ready. You will be amazed how good it is. Its what i use for knife handles. My secret now not so secret mix...😂😂😂

Its 100 cm long and i have 2. The idea is to join them together. Add some poles and lashings ect. May make an integral cover too.

Its quite strong thick plastic so they should be ok. Think it will be a last resort if all else fails but 2 of them will fit my 2 bags full of kit.

Yes the only problem he had was when he had to pull it on a road which made it wear through. I may even just go with it.

Off topic does anyone know of anyone, who has used their SPOT device to request emergency medical help? [Theres a button on it which is supposed to relay your location, and the fact that you're halfway up a tree with a bear attached to your ankle.]

News update!

Thanks to Gregers commendable logisitical efforts to get us where we need to go, Ive just booked the minibus, with Thomas, to pick us up, at 7:30 am on the morning of the 24th January 2017, at Gallivare Station. [big breakfast on train] Couple of hours drive up to demarcation, kit set up on boggans.....5 minutes to an hour.......
Off trekking in light, about 9:30 am/10am.

Well done Greger, you have saved our bacon. Thanks again.

All going smoothly, we dont need to pay for the hotel/hostel, in Kiruna, the camping, in jokkmokk, or the minibus,in Gallivare, or normal buses until we are there.

So have some swedish kroner on you.
