o1 blade edge testing

just started making a few videos testing my o1 knife blades... this is one of a few tests checking the cutting edge for correct heat treat and temper. forceably pressing the cutting edge at an angle against a brass rod to flex it, im checking the blade does not chip/fracture and also that the cutting edge will flex and fully return...

another video testing my blades, this one is o1 tool steel edge quenched and tempered at 250-260c for two hours x2 allowed to cool to room temp in between tempering cycles.
must apologize for the poor video skills and sound as using my mobile phone and just not any good at this video stuff
just one step in testing the blades for toughness and edge retention... penny chop was done next and a bend test after that which involves hammering the blade point first into a tree and seeing if it'll take my weight without bending/snapping

and a penny chopping test... didnt realize that pennies are made from steel now!
the blade did fold and chip but nothing i couldnt grind out and re edge... still going strong!
