Awwww, don't be a spoilsport!!!

Gosh, you guys are soooo talented :) I have a lovely bass toned djembe which gets farrrr too little use (mostly because I'm not too good on it due to lack of practice, isn't it always the way ;))

You don't want to be deaf! I adore djembe but can't play them because of deformed hands ... I might dance if you play it though :p:dancer:

Ohhhh you're a drum dancer? Of the bellydance variety? If so, which variant?! There's a lot of American Tribal and Gothic round here but I stopped a while ago, I was an intermediate contemporary style but money ran out and I think I'd 'popped' something one time too many and 'locked' for a week ;) I'm not clear on beat repetition for dancing so would love you to talk me through it!

ps chad you're a baaaad man ;)

I dance to drums but not a belly dancer. I worked for many years as demonstrator to a friend who taught for Arlene Philips in London Pineapple :). Those were the days, I was fit and slim and could wrap my legs round my neck, don't look for that now though or I end up like this  Rhythms/beat? Bring the jdembe and we'll give it a whirl, as complex as you like suits me. I lead a drumming group here.

Gosh, I think I'm getting a bad case of Goddess complex.... is there anything you can't do/ haven't done already?!!

I've had absolutely no drum instruction apart from at festival workshops so you may find me a frustrating pupil, all enthusiasm and nil ability :) I'm hoping to pick up my spindles tomorrow from White Rose and am sock knitting so between those, playing laavu AND lovely workparties, I think I'd be entertained for a full fortnight if we get an extension :)

I'll bring my drum along... its a lovely deep tone but very quiet, I reskinned it with furry goat so its not too invasive, wouldn't want young Chad to loose out on his sleep ;) As for us providing entertainment, I'm more likely to provide you with 'You've Been Framed' footage!

....that's me waaayyy up the far end then!
Mmmm now THAT sounds entertaining watching for us girls ;)

:lmao: I'm lousy at putting a tarp up, can't tie knots, not good with spindle spinning, couldn't manage your laavu, not good at driving, can't walk well, no good at leatherwork, can't carve a spoon, don't know how to use a saw, chainsaw, axe, hatchet, can't shoot, know very little about knives ... the list goes on! I began dancing when I was 4, fell on me feet with Arlene's friend and loved it.

Hope you're enjoying White Rose and looking fwd to pix. Can't be there as I'm lousy at driving in snow and ice - our snow's still lingering this morning and pond is iced over. Will see you at North Wood next month so bring drum there, I might bring mine :)

i noticed there are a few fairly new folks coming along, :) apart from a bit of clearance and firewood collecting, do you or anyone else wish to tackle/brush up on a particular skill? or perhaps you just want to chew the fat around the fire :)
