Not sure if this was a good idea, but I mentioned this meet to my Father and younger brother. They are interested, although my brother seems to think Dad may be working. I may get them to come in their WW2 reenactment gear, so if anybody may be offended by a German Falschirmjaeger or an Airborne Yank, let me know! I'll make sure they leave the deactivated rifles at home, unless there is a wish to see them!

Can we all come in fancy dress Spam, just got a new french maids outfit.

Too much oil - he should be behind you :D

They'll be very welcome to come along.

I didn't think this would be a problem, but I did a bit of checking on the off chance and I was wrong. A fully equiped WW2 German (or someone who looks even remotely like one) is likely , as it was put to me, to 'raise serious comments' from others who may be on site at some point over the weekend. No problems mentioned about American Airborne though.

I'll make sure they leave the deactivated rifles at home ...

I'd like to see them. Unfortunately they can't be brought onto the site.

I was thinking of doing a curry again so what i planned to do was do the sauce a few days before then add the meat Fri or Sat.

Any idea of an approximate time for skinning of animals? I'm going try to get one or more service crew down to take part (or just watch) - there's still the possibility of passing youths 'persuading' each other into false memories
sick0013.gif
but we'd have definitive, unquestionable proof that we treat animals with respect.

I will be mainly tearing heads of small woodland creatures about 3pm Sat in the twilight zone or if anyone is watching conforming to all H&S and food hygiene regs at rough close at the same time.
PLEASE NOTE all animals gave prior permission to be in this curry

Are we partaking with the veg for the curry ? I can bring some along if you want.

If i could only catch the mouse in my garden Woodstock, you could skin that for a challange !!

It would be funny to see those feral scouts being chased by a bloke in full German uniform, worth putting on youtube. Or maybe a Russian ?

Just as a personal opinion, I would rather not spend a weekend with people dressed in US army uniforms, historical or otherwise. :)

Nothing against the military in general, or american troops in particular, or even DPM army suplus gear (!), just a wish to avoid as much politics and the outside world and enjoy the woods for a bit! :)

Appreciate others will find that odd, but t'is just an opinion :)

**edit**

on second thoughts, it's not an issue...

"some in rags, some in tags, and one in a velvet gown"

whatever floats yer boat, it's all good :)

I got a hurricane lantern for the meet, I have a lot of kerosine and im not bringing my triangia so I thought it would a good way to use it up. I spent 7.99 on one at yeomans then saw the SAME ONE in poundland next door!! I took it back with an excuse that it turns out someone had bought me one. Robbing gits.

Yeah, get a satnav :) the M5 then M6 looks like a rather circuitous route.

Being serious though, google earth recons M42, A45, A452, and Tom Tom agrees. Total distance only 28 miles
