I was recently in my local surplus store and spotted this knife at only £25 i couldnt resist getting it, when i got in i noticed that the balde wasnt that sharp so after some time i got the blade to be like a razor. the only this which i dont like about it is the sheath (might turn out to be a nice little project) has anyone else came across this knife?

Only jerking your chain mate - to be honest I can't really comment as I haven't seen or held one but I reckon a Frosts high carbon mora would be a better buy at £8.50 if it's a cheap bushcrafter you are after :)

It looks a bit rambo ish, and it looks like its hollow ground which is relatively weak, but it could be a good performer???

I agree that it is a bit rambo ish but if it works for you, then that is all that matters. I have just got a little hollow ground skinner to try out and it is pretty good and holds its edge pretty well, but I will stick with scandi, flat and convex for main use.
A hollow grind is a grind where the area behind the edge is cancave as opposed to the frosts mora which is a scandi grind and the area behind the edge is flat.

not a bad knife, i like the cruve in the blade to help get good grip.

I have a small skinner with a similar extra notch for your finger like yours.

I thought it was maybe just a gimmick but it does help me to have better control of the blade for more precision cutting.

It's also hollow ground which can be advantageous for some types of cutting.

What's wrong with Rambo? We Americans love Rambo. In fact, I hear Rambo 4 is coming out in 2008.

Rambo 4: The Curse of the Golden Years

Actually Sly is looking pretty buff, but still old.

Check out those ham-like forearms. Well seasoned but still meaty.

The banks of the Deveron.
Off topic, but I recently heard an interview with Satllone on Radio 4 where he discussed both Rambo 4 and a new film he was writing on one of his heroes, Edgar Allen Poe.

He said that: 'Poe was a genius, and I think we all know I'm not'. Which came across very well, he also implied that Rambo was a thinly veiled attempt to liberate the illiterate masses of their money to fund these other projects.

Rambo is a money grabber.

I like the man more.

yer this notch is very usefulit give me alot more control over the knife and better leave ridge when cutting or carving.
