Can't imagine using it more than 10 minutes unless your hands are like leather gauntlets, looks like it would be hot spots galore. I always thought the first rule of knife design should be comfort in use as well as durability:confused:

No accounting for some people's taste though, but I'm sure someone must like it!

Edit; Just had a proper look, I've changed my mind. It's aimed at people shooting AND comes with a bottle opener! The perfect marriage:eek:

Of no use to me as I like my rifle scopes to stay put and cannot abide the type of mounting arrangement that uses 1/2" nuts to imply stability:yuck:

it most certainly is :D
they stole the wire cutter idea from AK47 bayonets and the rest seems to be styled on a pile of boxes full of broken glass.

It looks like it is meant to be used with thick leather gloves, the sort with kevlar lining. I bet it has been designed for police use (like a lot of SF stuff) and the most it will be used for is a quick slash to open things up, slicing seat belts and plastic cuffs (cable tie thingies). It wouldn't suprise me if the back end of the blade (when closed) made one of those glass smashing hammers you get on rescue knives.

Taken out of context it is one ugly piece of metal I would't touch with a barge pole, no doubt it's been "styled" to look aggresive and butch. The bottle opener foxed me until I remembered in some hot coutries like the states and South Africa they still sell lots of pop in glass crown top bottles. If I remember right when SA designed one of its rifles (the R4?) they actually built in a bottle opener to stop their squaddies buggering up the magazine lips using them! If thats a urban myth please shoot me down!

Just my two pen'ath

How entirely appropriate that they should call it the 'Crank', which is possibly less obvious than calling it the 'Gullible'!
