Aye Up All,

Just watched The Siege of Jadotville - based on a (hushed up) true story of Irish UN soldiers in Africa 1961 being shafted by guess who?................................. politicians.

The lad from the Fall who plays Spector takes the lead roll and does a good job of it.

Captain Fantastic. Starring cool cat Viggo 'Aragorn' Mortensen.

Brilliant

The Mrs and me went to see it last night, brilliant bit of escapism from Mr Burton. 3D was pretty good too.
Now looking forward to seeing Benedict Cucumber in Doctor strange. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSzx-zryEgM

I'm hoping to see both of those, but with any luck I'll talk my daughter into going with me to see Deepwater Horizon this week or weekend.

The Wave, a Norwegian disaster movie based based on a rock-slide tsunami incident which destroyed the village of Tafjord.

Over the years as a result of Hollywood garbage I've become desensitised to this sort of film but found this actually rather good. It builds predictably but once the siren sounds the rush is on.

Brilliant movie! Thanks Dave !!!
We all thoroughly enjoyed that!
And yes , as a family we would love to live just like that, and somewhere similar. Just beautiful.
Maybe not quite as extreme in ideals and regime but the Noam Chomsky day is a brilliant idea and I may take that up...😀

Strong language throughout and a fairly bloody start but the kids loved it nonetheless.

Inspiring and very entertaining.

Grimsby has a few good moments, Finest Hours was OK, 13 hours is a good watch especially if you know the full backstory, In the Heart of the Sea is OK, and the Man From Uncle and Ant Man were surprisingly good.

How old are your kids? Would I be OK taking my 12 yr old?
Sorry for late reply, yes ! My kids are 9 this week and they enjoyed it.

Like I said , there's quite a bit of swearing ,but they heard it all before...and besides the story itself distracts one from that minor issue.

12 year old should be fine I reckon.
Brilliant movie.

I looked it up and it's rated R. Probably for the language; I would have been allowed to watch most R rated movies at age 12 although they wouldn't let a 12 year old in the theater unaccompanied for them now.

Brilliant film, remake of an older Japanese story i think, but very topical (politics, enviroment, society, etc) aswell as historical mixed with plenty of scifi

Watched I, Daniel Blake at the flicks the other night. Brilliant, it captures the frustration of bureaucracy and 'the system' perfectly, would very much recommend it.

Good film , I watched it the other day. Wouldn't be surprised if that guy is the next Bond.
