Really like the look of that. Some questions!

1. Solid brass handle or hollowed-out/stamped?
2. Any idea on the weight of it?
3. Length of the cutting edge?
4. Thickness of the blade?

Solid cast brass panels with no internal lightening cuts, 130g with a 9cm handle and a 2.5mil blade thickness. Nice snap to the back spring. Very usable.

With all the interest shown in this rather traditional folder appealing to the bushcraft crowd I've dug through the Internet and found it's still being made. I bought mine at a street market in Argentiere near Chamonix about 15 years ago.

From the website:

This knife was found on the Bossons glacier in Les Houches at the end of the 18th century, beginning of the 19th century by a mountaineer who donated it to the Crystal Museum in St-Michel (Chamonix). It has proven its reliability because it probably spent several decades in the Bossons glacier before being found.
Thanks to the Crystal Museum in Chamonix who allowed me to reproduce the original knife.
