  • Merry Christmas Guest, we hope that you have a great day wherever you are, and we're looking forward to hearing of your adventures in the New Year!
I'm hard pressed to find anything truly irritating in our natural environment here in the UK. Midges are a minor annoyance in some areas and horse flies can be a nuisance that hurt, ticks are a problem and carry disease. Oh and some joker planted Common Lime trees in our car park where they drip sap onto the cars all summer and autumn; I'm sure whoever did it laughing at us, but those trees are planted not a natural occurrence in a nature area.

For true annoyances in nature I have to go overseas and be eaten alive by mosquitoes, have flies crawling all over me and my food, ants swarming over everything that's edible and carrying it off, scorpions in my boots, snakes in my tent, leeches sucking my blood, etc.

Anything that sucks blood or bites leaving itchy marks - not very keen on, but apart from that, havent come into any other real annoyances, except for those created by myself, like turning the torch off and putting it down in the dark , then having to find it again or root out the spare:banghead: (a classic).

It's at moments like that when I wonder why almost all torches are painted black.
