this is the reason why i will not build a crook framed bodgers camp in my nearest woodland, you just dont know what'll hapen if you cant get there for a few days

I dont know why some people have to spoil it for others.

EDIT: why would there be a full drum of diesel in a scout storage hut?

I'd recommend using a few shipping containers to replace the hut. They are easily fitted out and don't burn and you can make them as secure as you feel necessary.

What size was the original hut?

As said above - the words that spring to mind would be a moderators nightmare!!!
