My latest effort on the pole lathe. (SAK for scale)




Designed as a heavy duty implement for heavy stirring tasks, perhaps for stirring a mash tun, if I ever get around to full grain home brewing. About two foot long in Sycamore, this was quite wasteful of wood, as the blank had to be big enough to accommodate the ball end handle. If I made another I would turn one from a flatter blank, and add a separate handle later.

Very nice. You sure it's not a spurtle. Label it as a rare local spurtle and charge $100s.

Could do worth one of them! My old plastic spoon gets a bit floppy at high temps. Drop me PM if you ever venture into full grain! Its all downhill from there

Looks like you could achieve a few knots(nauticallywise) with that or perhaps a mega spurt(le)
