Hi all,
I am not sure if this is the right sub-forum for putting such a message. If not (I am sorry mods).

If it is, this is what I am looking for:
- a scandi ground knife
- 01 steel
- 10 cm blade
- full tang
- between 3 and 4 mm thick blade
- small or no ricasso

I want to pay 120 pounds maximum.
I take it on a trip soon, so I don't have the option of a custom knife.

Do you have anything like this? Please PM or post a message. Links are also welcome
thanks in advance,
Lush

Thanks. I am looking for links to shops indeed. O1 tool steel is the only option this time though.
Preferably in Europe because I am in a bit of a hurry to get it in before the beginning of October.

I bet Bernie Garland could knock you up a knife quite quickly if you were to give him a shout. You could probably swap ideas and get him to make the knife for you. I have a few BG knives and they are great. Just a thought.

Mmm, I think that goes above my budged I had in mind. His website doesn't give me the impression that he is into quick custom building. But maybe you know Bernie Garland?

I did come across his website and do fancy one of his knives.

I know Bernieand indeed have one of his knives. Talk to him - if he has the materials in stock and its one of his normal designs I'm sure he could sort you in a few days

I was going to suggest an Enzo too. It is a very nice blend of traditional Finnish scandi knife and the modern Woodlore-type bushcraft knife. It comes from a very reputable source so you can be confident of not just the steel, but also the heat-treat.

I think the blades are 95mm, not 100mm. Certainly the longer blade is better for batoning but I guess a 5mm difference is not much.

I'll thrid the enzo line... probably get them delivered for your price and completed... I know you specifically want O1, but once you try the D2 version out, you may be hooked... not as hard to sharpen as some might think.. and the edge holds like no tomorrow

Hi guy's I made a deal with Shing. He sells me a knife that has some specifications I really like. Zero bevel Scandi, a little longer handle then often found. 110mm blade, stabilized wood handle. It's not a custom. I get it though the post soon.

thanks for the tip's on the Enzo knifes (and others as well). I never knew there was a brand that sells bushcraft knifes in an online shop for a good price :).

Sounds a very good choice.

-you only here good things about Shing's work
-110mm will actually be better for batoning. Unless you have an axe with you, batoning wood is one of the most essential uses for a knife.
- stabilised wood is much less likely to warp with temp/humidity changes. My Enzo has stabilized handles and I believe it is a good choice.

Thanks, yeah, it's a good choice I think. I wanted stabilized wood for the reason you mentioned. This knife is going to replace a bushcrafter I made from D2. That one also has stabilized wood for the handle but is hard to sharpen...

Blow the budget my friend, Bernie's knives rock. I've seen one in the flesh as a raffle prize at our last meet, awsome piece of kit. :D

I am sure you are right, but it's too late now, and I don't regret at all..

In stead I might buy one of his at a later time!
