as a first time user of 43 years old and a bit of a technophobe would like to attend the booshmoot event with my 7 year old son. would like some advice on kit required and any useful tips to make our stay a memorable experiance.

Welcome to BCUK, good to have you :)

For kit: you'll find a lot of members spend the night in a hammock. But there are also some grounddwellers under bashas. Families in tents, tipis, you name it (except caravans of course).
