Indigenous people who live in cold climates cover their heads & those who live in warm climates don't. That's all the confirmation I need. :rolleyes:
 
Culture vs nurture comes into play too though.

Honestly ? if you're cold, put a hat on, it really helps.....even when sleeping.
A watch cap is very comfortable to sleep in. Hammock, tent, curled up in a plaid, a hat helps.

I think it's important to understand that the studies conducted do not say that there is no point in wearing a hat when it's cold, there is absolutely point in wearing a hat when it's cold, the more of your body you have covered the warmer you will be, the study is only saying that you do not in fact lose 40-45% of total body heat loss through your head.
