Im out of it for a while/hopefully not perminent.

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Oooh. Nasty.
At least you know now what it is, and that it can be dealt with successfully.
Thole it through and you'll be back out and about again before Summer's bye.
Up here we're careful about sheep 'cos they carry it and their faeces spreads it around. One of the reasons those wee pocket sized handsteriliser gels are so popular.
Easy done to pick up ecoli 0157 :(

Hoping for a very speedy recovery.

atb,
M

Toddy, yep E coli 0157 is a worry when out etc, but im extra carefull as anyone who's been out and about with me will tell you im over cautious, the thing is though its in my bladder/kidney's not my gut, how the hell it got there is a mystery to me and the Medic's so far.

I've just been reminded by my better half that both our girls have had it in the same area as you Andy.
I knew they'd had it but forgot where.

Not nice at all.

Andy, sorry that looked like I was saying you hadn't been careful, and I didn't mean it to come out that way.
I was really just saying how easily the blasted thing could be picked up.

Nasty enough in the gut, but in your liver ??? and kidneys ???
Really, really hope you heal well asap.

cheers,
M

Toddy i took absolutely no offence in your previous post, i was just saying im ott in my precautions, that's why i cant think for the life of me how ive got it. dont know if its the med's im on or the bug itself but it does'nt half give you strange, and realistic nightmare's ive had them every night and they get more realistic and more scary, i could write some good horror scripts at the mo.

Rich i know E coli 0157 can come from under cooked foods/ contaminated foods etc, but ive not had that problem, ive not had food poisoning, my problem started as a urine infection(extremely rare in a man, even more rare at my age) that spread to my Kidneys and caused them to fail,on my letter from the hospital it read ''of unknown cause''We all have E -coli in our guts obviously not the harmfull type, how any form got in to my water works is anyone's guess,(please no sick one's as it aint any) that's probably why ive got some horrendous test's to go through.

Any way cheer's everyone, i think ive bored you all for long enough, just got to much time on my hand's as all's i can do is sit around all day, or sleep at the moment, oh and drink quantity's of water like ive never drunk before.

Liam, Liam ,Liam, I knew i could rely on you for help and sympathy, as Arnie would say ''i'll be back, and this time your targeted for termination!

No need to thank me Andy. I've got all the sympathy you want mate - it's in a box in the freezer but it's well out of date.

Gimme a shout when you are fit and healthy and we can both go and sort Liam out, termination is too good, some kind of maiming would be OK though.

I will be sure to do that, once fit maybe we could put a squad together it would mean trying to dispatch him on his own turf, but im keen to give it a go,Hell its what's keeping me going.

What? Just the two of ye!?

My folded over wellies on their own would sort the pair of ye out!

Glad to hear it's E Coli (not that I wish that on you!) but at least you know what it is...

Not that that always makes things any easier, it just shifts the worry sometimes (I'm always positive me).

As for Andy being sloppy in his personal admin? Not a chance.

Any word that begins with "ti..." has him stripping down to the buff and doing decontamination that would make an NBC (CBRN) wallah blush.

Quite a few of us have seen this live - I'm just glad the beach is very secluded. I've never seen Grey seals hit the surf so fast nor seen kayakers paddle in reverse through 20ft breakers rather than land.

All the best Andy, keep us posted mate.

Liam

To be fair though the ti... do like him a lot.

Hahahaha - he'll be in the buff before he's finished reading that!

Andy, I think your E Coli lurgy is linked to your "Man from Atlantis" time in the water.

It might not be a good idea to google surfers against sewage...

Liam

Liam, you could be right on that the first symptom's did start about a week after my last swim/snorkelling session.

Ps Dont mention the Ti, i did once and think i go away with it,typing with one hand and decon/fumbing nether regions with the other aint easy.
