Decided to do a couple of nights solo up in Glen Fyne. Been there a few times at a lovely reserved wood, in the middle of the FC plantation. Some lovely scenery up there and it's sooo peaceful, ducks, deer, eagles, pheasants etc all abound.

So I was really looking forward to going up this weekend, weather was due to be great. New pair of boots on Thursday meant the 4 mile hike cross country gave me a couple of blisters, but they were worth it really. Up the resi, over Kilbride hill - some lovely views over the Clyde and down into the glen itself, views and scenery were just breath taking. Until I got into the glen properly, and saw the logging thats been going on. Once you have an image in your head of what a place is meant to look like, and you see it once it's been looted and pillaged of it's lumber you feel like the land itself has been violated.

However, I still managed a great weekend, relaxed and saw some lovely sights, managed to take a few pics and wanted to share them with you.

You can almost smell that air, hear the water and see the trees move; brilliant.

Cheers folks. A wonderful part of Cowal indeed. The area is probably meant to be called Blairbuie Estate, but as far as I know no one calls it that. Blairbuie is referring to the stone building you can see in the pics. It's been there a while, a long while, as the other part of the building thats not in the close up pic, has arrow slit type of windows and the bit in view has normal windows and metal down pipes. There should be a cup mark stone there too, but the loggers seem to have either destroyed it or moved it.

Here is a link to 'Where's the path' clicky here

Also a couple of historical artifacty type of links can be found HERE
