This is all based on the plank that I already had.
Take one plank 6ft long by 12 inches wide by 2 inches, Cut it in half

On one half measure in 12 ins then make two three inch stop cuts, one from each side.
Then axe the paddle shape.

Drill and cut the slot for the thin part of the paddle shape, eight inches, job done

I did round off the corners of the seat and run a spoke shave around the edges.
