I don't know what to compare it to....lol.
It's a log I cut down in the summer.... it's been in the garden for nearly a year... But yeah, fairly easy to carve.... although I did struggle doing the bowl...

Try taking the secondary bevel off the spoon knife. It has greatly improved mine. Look at this thread for a "how to" from Hoodoo.

Thanks mate... I did attack it with the dremel on sunday and it's much better than it was....

offroad mick, have you reshaped the edge on your F1?

I got it second hand on the swap shop..... It had a few chips in the blade, so i spent ages on a sharpening stone getting them out...It then had a secondary bevel, which although sharp, was not as strong as a convex edge. Then I spent another hour or so on a mouse mat with some 600 wet and dry to get the convex edge back!!! Gave it a polish and its well sharp, convex and chip free now. I like the convex edge, so easy to keep sharp.

Very nice work - I like the stop cuts. My first attempt was a little boring in comparison!
