Illegal in the UK too, very effective though and another great build - cheers!

I'm not certain it would be. There are certainly "clamshell" type bird traps used to cage (not kill) legally over here. Is that much different? Certainly if it was a kill trap then it would be illegal

Don't the traps used in the UK have to cause no injury so as to be able to release unharmed non target species?

I would guess that the flat folding nature of the one above wouldn't qualify it as such.

However, I am not a lawyer, nor an expert on traps. I'm happy to go with "quite likely to be illegal in the UK"

They don't have to be - Fenn Traps for example certainly aren't or rat traps come to that.

I too am not a lawyer, nor have I played one in a movie or sat next to one on a plane (I did father one though!). I honestly don't know either - I was quite surprised to stumble across legal bird traps.

That said I wouldn't fancy my chances on that one being legal :)
