In Romania it is illegal to use this trap to catch animals so I didn't use it, but as I showed in the video it works very well.

That's a real smart trap. I have seen videos of a similar trap being used in Saudi Arabia.

I'm not certain it would be. There are certainly "clamshell" type bird traps used to cage (not kill) legally over here. Is that much different? Certainly if it was a kill trap then it would be illegal

Don't the traps used in the UK have to cause no injury so as to be able to release unharmed non target species?

I would guess that the flat folding nature of the one above wouldn't qualify it as such.

However, I am not a lawyer, nor an expert on traps. I'm happy to go with "quite likely to be illegal in the UK"

They don't have to be - Fenn Traps for example certainly aren't or rat traps come to that.

I too am not a lawyer, nor have I played one in a movie or sat next to one on a plane (I did father one though!). I honestly don't know either - I was quite surprised to stumble across legal bird traps.

That said I wouldn't fancy my chances on that one being legal
