i do not know as yet as not really thought about it

that said if and only if there are no loose dead branches on the ground suitable for processing i would only snap off dead branches at the lowest levels possible

this help with forest management

prevent or slow down any forest fires [hopefully never any forest fires, yet many idiots about]

one should never remove break or damage greenwood unless absolutely necessary
